Join us as we release the highly-anticipated 2017 "Calamity" Pinot Noir.
It began with a firecracker. In September of 2017, a spark on the Eagle Creek trail located some 30 miles west of our Estate soon brought calamity to Phelps Creek Vineyards' winery door.
Nothing stood between our vineyard and the fire, but tinder dry forest and hundreds of valiant firefighters.
The wildfire burned nearly 50,000 acres in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge and as the frontline approached a mile from the estate, the first raindrops in months began to fall - joining tears of relief.
A portion of the proceeds from this bottle will support the Eagle Creek Restoration Fund which is dedicated to rebuilding the trails lost in the blaze.

What makes your smoky Pinot Noir a limited production bottling?
Phelps Creek Vineyards typically produces 3,000 cases of Pinot Noir from our Estate Vineyards. Throughout the blaze, the estate vines were immersed in thick smoke. We quickly realized, the smoke’s affect was irreversible on the ripe fruit. We made only 181 cases of Pinot Noir for 2017 - the best and most intriguing blocks and barrels. Perfect with barbeque and to be shared with loved ones. The wine reflects a unique season and celebrates resilience.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
